1 John 5

If we have been borne of God, we will love all who were also borne of God. We will love Christ and all children of God, and obey his commandments. If only we commit, we will realize they are not burdensome. We will overcome this worldly view.

It's very interesting how God is the Spirit, the water, and the blood. Everything that sustains us. They testify together--the trinity in essence. I love it. Whoever has the son of God, has life. whoever doesn't have the son, does not have life. It is very straight forward.

This verse about sin that does not lead to death has also intrigued me as well. All wrong-doing is sin, but not all sin leads to death. What is the difference?
Also, once we are borne of God, we do not keep on sinning. Very key. A verse my grandfather always brang up. This verse terrifies me.

Colossians 2:1-15

Let no one tell you differently. Jesus died for your sins. God is offering eternal life and a home in heaven for anyone who believes in Him.  Just because you can't see Him in the flesh with your own eyes does not mean His spirit is not present. There will be people who try to dissuade you, and your flesh will want to deceive you, but it is important to stay rooted in Christ. We are forgiven because of what Christ has done for us.

Romans 13

We are to respect authority. The only thing I wonder about is, what if the authority does not know Christ? What if they instruct us to do that which is against God? Whose responsibility is it to uphold the commandments?
I do love what Paul writes of love though. If only we love others as ourselves, we would fulfill the law.  That is what the law is--to love. Such a beautiful thing.
And, no matter the struggle, we must not give in to our flesh's desires. We must put on Jesus Christ instead, and the armor He provides.

Psalm 78:1-8

God's word is meant to live in motion. It is supposed to be carried out, and passed on from generation to generation. It is for everyone. With each generation, we should improve. No matter how unfaithful those before us were, God is ever present to be praised and trusted by our generation. We must not forget what He has done for us.

Philippians 3

Paul brings to light how we must forget about what lies behind and strain for what lies ahead. There is always going to be a mountain of sin behind us, taunting us with our own imperfection. God invites us to be with Him, washing away that mountain to nothing. Sin will stay in the world, but not in the Kingdom of God- and that is where our citizenship is. There is always going to be those who try to distract us from loving Jesus, but through His strength we can endure, we can overcome. in Him we can rejoice!

Revelation 3

It is in times of opposition and trail that we must keep strong in our faith. We must glorify our king in all situations. We must not be lukewarm, or we will be spit out. God is to be taken seriously. We must be prepared for His return.

Revelation 2

Jesus sends the angels to the churches. He has a message for each of them, but a common theme is "he who has an ear, let him hear." As in any situation, the Spirit will speak, and we must listen. We must not forget about the Spirit. He is the "Forgotten God" as Francis Chan calls Him. Everyone has sin and must repent. The Holy Spirit will lead you to turn from your sin.
