Romans 8:31-39

We are loved by a gracious, forgiving, caring, powerful, sovereign God, and there is nothing that can separate us from it. He is well, and he is forever. He is love! There isn't a thing in the world that stands a chance against Him. No matter what we go through in life, He is here to see us through it. We are strengthened through Him!

John 14:18-21

All we have to do is love him, and His love will be in us, and the Father's love will be in us. We will be in Him and He will be in us. What more could we want? He will provide, He will take care of us in times of trouble. He is life! And he will never leave us!

Ephesians 2:1-7

At first, we are born into a raging river pulling us with a strong current of sin. God shines from a lighthouse on the shore though, and when we see it, we must fight the current. The closer we get to the shore, the easier it is to reach it. We were were sinners just like everyone else in the world, but the difference is, we have Christ's love in us, and He is the rope we can grab hold of to get to shore. Because of his the Lord's great mercy, we have His son's blood to cleanse us of our sins.

1 John 2:1-6

Such powerful words. Walk as Jesus walked. If we say we love Jesus, but we sin, the truth is not in us, and we are liars. This means one thing. Don't sin. It's straight-forward truth from the breath of God. Keep his commandments, so you don't sin. I believe it all fits together once you get it. Once you truly love him, and you truly love your brothers and sisters on this earth. Satan has no power over you, and his temptations are greatly overshadowed by God's love. We sacrifice for him life He sacrificed for us. This is love.

John 3:16-20

John 3:16--Only one of the most popular, if not THE most popular verse in the bible, and rightly so. It's a love you will never experience from anything in this world. Jesus is the light of the world, and whether you love the light or the darkness determines your eternity. When you love the light, you live in the light. This is something I want to expand on. I want to make sure God is EVERYWHERE in my life. He loves me with all he is, and that is how I want to love Him!

God wants us to be clean and live a holy life for Him. It is not always easy fighting our past intuition that was so boldly influenced by this world. If we remain in Him, he will take care of us and give us everything we need. We can count on Him.--We can be be hold just like Him.

The Lord is just, and he knows the decisions we make. He will judge our hearts. Though we may struggle and be mistreated, the Lord God will see through that each person gets what they deserve. The proud man will be humbled. When He returns, we will see just how inferior we are to Him.

God showers his faithful followers with the desires of their hearts. In essence, he gives them life! We have the opportunity to spread his light every day, and it is up to us to do it! The Lord loves us and wants to shower us with love and righteousness. Those who walk upright understand His great power. Walk with Him, and he will not disappoint!

Job 8:3-13

Our views of God are minimal compared to who He truly is. He's more than we could ever imagine. Who are we to say what is right and wrong? Only He sets true justice and righteousness, because he is the creator of it, and everything else. We can trust in him and his judgment.

Psalm 103:6-14

God is merciful and loving. He knows who we are and how to mold us into Christ-like children. All we have to do is follow him with fearful love, leaving our sinful desires behind. When we turn from our sin, God removes the sin from us, as far from us as the east is from the west. Because Christ died for us, these sins can be forgiven. We are dust, and he has breathed life into us! It is us who owe him everything.

Titus 2:11-14

We should not beat ourselves up for having worldly lusts. It is in fact part of life. As long as we deny them, we can keep our souls clean before God as his will commands. Let our hearts be zealous for Him, fruitful with good works. He offers us salvation through his loving grace. We should take up the offer humbly and furtively.

Ephesians 1:4-10

If we have anything to be thankful for today, it is Christ's love. Through that holy and pure love, he has saved us. And because of that love, we can spend eternity with our father in Heaven. It was His will that we should be his children, and His grace and mercy that we should be redeemed when we were still sinners. He opens the door for us to be washed clean of our sins. Today, Thanksgiving is Thanks for forgiving.

Romans 5:6-11

We are reconciled with God through Jesus Christ. He, a perfect man, died for us while we were still sinners. We were. And because of Him, we can now rid ourselves of sin. He can purify us to white. THAT, is the power of Christ. Yet, we were sinners, and not one of us gave our life for the righteous man, but God still gave up his only son out of his genuine and powerful love for us. While we WERE enemies of God, Jesus' death reconciled us. Because we were reconciled, Jesus' life saves us IN THE PRESENT. And because of this, we may rejoice in the Glory of God!

His righteousness is magnificent. He is just, and the wicked will be separated from his children. He is our father in heaven worthy of all our praise. His presence alone brings us to our knees. He is the holy one, and HE loves US more than we could ever imagine. He has our destiny's set in eternity, and it is up to us to follow him faithfully.

God is faithful. He always has been and always will be. Just as he kept his promise to His people of Israel, he will keep His promise to us. When we trust in Him, he will lead us on His path. Our God is a dependable God. He is faithful. His promise stands firm forever. He is unchanging. He is a rock. He is the foundation our lives are to be built upon. This is what is great about having an E-group!

Numbers 23:19-23

God is not a man, therefore we can not treat him like a man. Where man lies, God speaks truth. Where man angers, God is peace. Where man in unsure, God is certain. Where man hates, God is Love. Where man fails, God is perfect. God is the great provider. After 40 years in the desert the Lord brought his people out of Egypt. He is faithful and will not go back on his word!

Deuteronomy 7:6-9

We are a chosen people, and we are loved. God has made an oath to us that he will always love us and every of our generations. He is a faithful and true God, so we can stand firm on his word. Only if we let him in to be Lord of our lives will we experience his love. He wants so desperately for us to do just that.

God has been, is today, and will always be faithful. It is through His son Jesus Christ we are saved, and it is out of love. He has spared us a hell which could have consumed us eternally so we could spend eternity with Him. He is a fair, just God and every human to walk this earth will be judged by Him. Once we understand this, and we trust him, he will light the darkness around us.

God has so much to teach us. Sometimes it takes a while to learn a lesson, but this teaches us patience as well. He loves us so much, and deserves our full attention and trust. Sometimes though, we doubt. How can we trust him if we don't believe he is who he says he is? And why would he gives us the desires of our heart if we don't even trust him? Not to mention, if we can't trust God, who CAN we trust? There is no reason to doubt. Those who stay steadfast in faith and love are rewarded with their desires.

He is the alpha and omega--the first and the last. These are such broad words, yet not broad enough to even begin to describe God's vastness. He is coming, and he will administer rewards for what we have done. What we have done in our lives will be justly compensated. The more we stick to his word and work to spread his word, the more we please God. And because he is a just God, he will reward us!

Our God is never-ending--and he is the same. He will never change on us. He is who he is and that is always who he will be. This is why he needs to be our foundation. God his right here with us, all the time. He is never far away. He sees every choice we make and hears every thought we think. This is why he is so dependable for advice and guidance. We can trust him because he knows us--he CREATED us! As soons as we let him in, he's there to stay!

God does everything in its right timing. Even though we may want God to hurry up and answer our prayers, we must remember that He is running the whole world! Everything works out to happen when it needs to, and more often than not what happens affects more than just ourselves. When we wait we learn patience. God is also patient with us. He waits and waits for us to turn from our sin and to him.

1 Timothy 1:12-17

Paul has laid this out beautifully and straight-forward. Jesus is so good to us. He sacrificed himself for us, filthy sinners, when he didn't have a smudge of sin on Him. That didn't matter to him. He loves us anyway. It is through him that we can conquer sin, if we let him in. It is an amazing honor that we should receive such wondrous love. Praise be to Him, Father Son and Holy Spirit!

God created all things. Every person, every text, every computer, every laugh, every thought. He is in it all, and he created it all for himself. He is the head and ruler of the heavens and earth. Who can say that he does not deserve our respect as our creator and king? He is all powerful and worthy of our love without question, because he loves us unconditionally as well. It is up to us to give him the love he deserve.

God was and is and is to come. He was there in the beginning, and he is even here now. He is the Word. He is the words in this very verse. He is good. He is light. And in our sin, we are in darkness. There is a division between the secular and the Christ followers. The secular look to please themselves. The Christ followers choose to please Christ in spite of their own desires. Which path we follow will determine whether we end up with our Father or in Hell. We must cleanse ourselves of evil in order to spend eternity with God.

Exodus 3:13-15

God is who He is. You can't get more straight forward than that. He's so infinite, he can't even be constrained to a name. He always has been, he is, and he always will be. This God wants you, wants me, to be in a trusting, humble, loving relationship with him. He created everything, and he deserves every bit of love we can muster.

We must stay strong in Jesus' presence. He is the one who called us to him, who loved us first. By faithfully reading his word and equipping ourselves for teaching it, we are showing that we love him back. When you're representing the creator of the universe, you should be familiar with his work.

It's never going to be all that easy for us. We live in a world that doesn't know God--doesn't know love--doesn't know truth. He loved us first, and when we love him, we can embrace His love for us. If we truly love him, we will keep his commandments. That's when we know we abide in Him and Him in us. We will see Jesus manifest himself to us. His love will give us strength.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

When we truly seek him, we will truly find him. When we search with all our heart--not just when we feel like we need help, or when we want some material thing-- we find Him and he provides. He has a plan if we simply let him lead. We just need to swallow any pride standing in our way and devote ourselves to the Lord. He will take care of us--he can be trusted.

Jesus is God. He is creator. He is all-mighty and powerful. If it wasn't for him, we would have never been thought up, let alone created. He created us so that we could have a relationship with Him that grows into something amazing. While we were still sinners he came to this earth and thought us worth dying for. This is despite all the times and ways we've wronged him--how we never gave him near the respect and love he deserved. He is the head and ruler of all things and this is the God who sacrificed his only son for our sake. What an honor we could never fully repay. Our lives are all we have, and with our lives he will be so good to us!

Here I see how any glories we get on this Earth are not our own. We are not responsible for the good things that happen to us, so we should not take credit. 1 Peter 4:12-16

The life of a Christ follower will not always be easy. There will be people who turn against you, insult you, and wish you harm because you have committed your life to Christ. This is nothing to be ashamed of. God gives you strength and everything you need to successfully follow Jesus. When he is revealed, they all will know they were wrong and we can rejoice! We are blessed to know the Lord, those who do not believe are not. Even when they are raging against us, we must still show them God's love--it is the only thing that can rescue them from their brokenness.

Even when Christ was first risen, only a chosen few witnessed it. Just as only a chosen few today witness him. Only few experience the life-changing effects of his love by turning to Him and accepting Him into their hearts. These are the few that have their burdens lifted knowing that Christ, the judge of the living and the dead, has forgiven their sins. That is why it must be us, the chosen few, who go out and live our lives for him publicly as a testimony to Him!

God is amazing. Just thinking of how he created every little feature of us, how he knew us before we were even born, is enough to make me stop and just ponder his greatness. God had an idea, and that idea was me. He created this idea with all these flaws and faults, but beautiful just the same, and is seeing it though it's very own life. God has shown this idea that through Him, He can cleanse the idea of its flaws and faults, because with Him, anything is possible. He loves this idea, and He's never left this idea alone. There is no point in setting out sites on things of the Earth. They will all pass away. All we need to focus on is the will of God and glorifying him. HE will be the one we see when our earthly desires pass. Without him, we are dead.

Matthew 5:13-16

We have a gift. We are God's chosen children. We have so much to offer this world. So much of His light needs to be spread around the darkness. Sometimes its hard to come out of our comfort zone, but it is for the Glory of God! We have a certain flavor in society but we lose it if we stay in the shadows. There are so many lost souls out there that NEED his light. How can we hide the light we have when it is meant to be shared?

Live Christ. Humbly serve him without shame or doubt. Love everyone, and let everyone know of Christ's love. He needs to be EVERYWHERE in our lives. If he is, then we are strong is every aspect of our lives.Until he comes, we must follow him. By letting go of all of our worldly possessions and desires, we can find true joy in Christ. This is how he saves us, and when we openly spread his love, we save others.

This is powerful. Really powerful. It's hard to swallow. If you hate your brother but are the ideal Christian in every other way, you are in and have always been in the darkness. We can not be IN Christ if we have sin IN us--that would mean there is sin IN Christ, which there is not. Through Christ's love we can achieve this sinless perfection. We can be IN him, sinless just as he is!

The Lord knows what's best for us. He's done so much for us already--he only has our best interests in mind. He has called us from darkness into his glorious light!! We know how sin wars against our soul. I sure do. By resisting fleshy lusts, we are sparing ourselves the pain and confusion of a warring soul. We are following Christ. He will be our love and protector!

Matthew 28: 16-20

Jesus reassures those who doubt. He is all-powerful and he can be trusted. He will not leave us. Who better to trust in than our creator, the creator of the universe?? When he says go, teach and baptize the nations, he has a specific plan for you and those you encounter. We are planting seeds, saving lives. There is no reason to doubt. He is our salvation!

2 Corinthians 5:14-20

What great peace we can know because we are forgiven. We can become born again and we are new. He washes away our sin and reconciles us. I think of anything I have that is new. New sheets, new phone, new clothes, and how pristine and flawless they are. They feel so good! And that's what we become for Christ. New. Sinless. Perfect. In CHRIST! Our mistakes are washed away and we are cleansed. We know that feeling, and out of love we should encourage others to find that salvation too! For Christ's sacrifice we can do this!

Hebrews 2:9-12

Jesus was perfect through all the sufferings he endured. All the punishment that was poured out on us that was supposed to be for us, he took on with a pure heart and soul. How can we be ashamed to speak about him? It was for the purpose of saving us that he gave his life, so we should not shrink back in fear of judgment. The real judge will make his decisions on Judgment Day.

Deuteronomy 7:6-9

The Lord has chosen us. He loves us. There aren't many of us, but that doesn't matter. Only HE matters. What's important is to focus on how to please him and love him as best we can. He is loving, faithful, and true--and he deserves all of us.

james 2:14-23

This relates very closely to yesterday's verse. If you are truly faithful, your faith will be evident in your actions--you will do good works if you have faith. Faith without works is dead. Anyone can believe in God--even the demons do. The difference is having faith in Him and trusting Him in your works. When you develop that relationship, you become a friend of God.

Ephesians 2:4-10

We are saved through Jesus Christ. It's a beautiful thing! God's grace is manifested in Jesus, and it's instills faith in his children. It is not by works which we are saved--nothing we specifically do will get us into heaven--but it is by faith in Him we are saved. But true faith produces works. The trust we have in Jesus will be evident in our actions.

This tells me that we are all called to serve the Lord, but we all have our own purposes in life. How we serve is different for each person. Even if we think we something isn't fair, we can trust in God that the outcome will be just. We get what we deserve.

1 John 3:16-20

"We ought to lay down our lives for the brethren"

What an intimidating verse. God laid down his son's life for you, so lay down yours for your brothers. Our lives are not our own, so who are we to decide who to do with them? Our lives are for the purpose of glorifying God. After all, he is the creator. We glorify him by loving others. How can we claim to love others if we shut others out? With God's love in us, we will spread it sincerely not only in word, but in deed.

Jesus calls us friends. He is God. The God of the universe wants to be friends with us. He extends that offer. How could we refuse? He loves us so much. He's chosen us, not we Him. He is in control of our very existence. This is so mind-boggling! He wants us to love one another. If only the whole world had this philosophy...By loving others, we love God, and when we ask for our desires in His son's name, we are provided for, in turn we have more to give away. Its a beautiful circle of love!

Collosians 2:13-15

We were in debt. We were dead. We were hopeless in sin. Yet He came. He cleansed us. He vanquished everything we owe him, and all he wants is our love in return. Amazing. Jesus took everything we deserve and endured it all. He died, and he rose again. What an amazing Lord we have, who loves us so much. Trust in Him!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

We need to reconcile with God. He loves us so much, and we sin despite Him. It's simply not right. God poured all his wrath out on his own sinless son for our sins. He took all the sins we committed and burdened Jesus with that cross. All he asks is for a relationship with us, loving Him faithfully as he loves us. We need to see past this world and embrace Jesus. We can be new. clean. sinless by being in Him.

Titus 2:11-14

If we simply follow the plan God has given us, we will receive everlasting life. With eternity spent with God, he will provide treasures beyond our wildest imaginations. All we have to do is follow Him. Lead purified lives, which only benefits us anyways. God wants to save us from our darkness, sin, and misery, but he will only do that is we sincerely ask him to. We don't deserve it, but he gives us the option.

Collosians 1:9-14

That's what I want-- to be filled with His knowledge and understanding. Sometimes it can get frustrating not understanding why things happen. It's hard to focus on the bigger picture and what God is doing in his perfect way rather than a conflicting event. That's what I need to pray for. When I commit to pleasing him, I will reap the benefits: His grace and comfort--the redemption he offers. He's here to rescue us!

1 Timothy 4:12-16

We need to do works of God out in the world--publicly. God wants us to read, teach, and do his word! In our everyday life, we need to set examples of Jesus--in conduct, in speech, in love, in faith and in purity. We need to love our neighbors as ourselves, and that means we have to try to get them saved. We were given the gift of knowing God, and we need to spread that knowledge. That is how we get ourselves and others saved.

If we follow Christ, the world will not understand us because the world does not know Christ. This is okay though, because we are Christ's beloved. Even if the world does not know us now, when Christ returns, they will know him and then the world will see that we are like him. With hope in Him, we can be purified even like he is pure.

The Lord loves us. It is plain and simple. He created us to be his children. He forgives us with his amazing grace so that we can be saved. He will bless those who walk in him, blameless, as we should be. Praise his holy name--he is generous when we don't deserve it.

We can't escape our heritage. Sin has been passed on to every one of us from our forefathers. It is the way we are born. But God gave his only Son so that we may have to opportunity to be rid of our sins. We can be born again--cleansing our souls of sin by repenting from them. It is through the shed spotless blood of Christ we are able to do this. Through Christ we can take up God's offer of eternal life in Heaven. We all will be judged on the choices we make--run to Christ, and we will be saved.

This just screams purpose to me. God created each and every one of us. So many people in the world are ignorant to his power, grace, and love. So many people turn to the world, not realizing that God is the only one who can truly satisfy us. He's given us so much, and he wants us to be with him. Once people start realizing this world will always let them down in one way or another, they can turn and experience the love of Jesus Christ.

Here I see that the Thessalonians were good, hardworking people who loved God. They were chosen by God and were led by the Holy Spirit. Paul thanked God for them. This is a basic introduction to the rest of the book--I'm sure there is a lot more to come on their works and faith in Jesus Christ.

James 5:13-20

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"
There is so much power is prayer. At any point in our lives, we can turn to God--to praise him, to trust in him, or to pray to him. If we have faith and obey him, our power through prayer is divinely strong. We have the power to stop the rain. I think this strength is something rarely realized. It is our responsibility with the power of God to save souls, or at least try. God has forgiven us, so we should forgive others so that we may save their souls from death.

James 5:7-12

God has really been talking to me about patience lately. Here it is reinforced. Our world is so fast paced that our patience is dwindling. The Lord is coming, Each day we are one day closer to Judgment Day. We just have to be patient and wait on the Lord. Don't judge your brothers because in the end, you will be judged for it. Those who can remain steadfastly true to Him are the ones who are blessed.

The rich who set their minds on material things will not survive the time of judgment. They will lose all their wealth and possessions and they will be left with their sinful souls in great misery. Their righteous servants who they have mistreated will rise above them. This just goes to show how everything of this world is temporary. We will lose it all, so it is best not to become attached, and focus solely of serving God.

James 4:13-17

We do not have control of time. We can never be sure of the next second. That is why we need to take whole of the moment and serve God now. The bible tells us our lives are just vapors, here for a little time, and then they vanish. We're just a small piece of eternity. There is no time for procrastination. If God shows us an opportunity to do good, and we don't take it, it is sin. Not to mention, a waste of the precious time we have.

James 4:7-12

If we resist the devil and his temptations, we will grow stronger in the Lord and the devil will flee from us. If we just have faith in this, temptations lose their strength. We must cleanse ourselves to draw nearer to God, and he will draw nearer to us. If we let go of our pride and humble ourselves, the Lord will exalt us. There's no point in judging His law or one another. We are merely his creation--we have no say in how he governs us. The responsibility is not ours. We can therefore trust in Him because he is perfect, and as sinners we are not. We must obey His law, be doers of the law, and He will provide.

We were born into lives where our flesh lusts for worldly things. The bible tells us this, and we experience it in our daily lives. But God tells us to resist these temptations by turning away from the world and turning to him. If we engage in the sinful ways of the world, we makes ourselves enemies of God. But because God offers grace, and he bestows it upon those who humbly turn to him. God resists the proud as they resist him.

We always turn to fighting when our desires consume us. We fight and we kill for what will not satisfy us. God does not give us things we ask for that will turn us away from him, just like a parent wouldn't give a child a knife to play with if he asked for one. When we ask for something in accordance with God's law, we will receive it.

James 3:13-18

There are 2 kinds of wisdom: Earthly wisdom, and holy wisdom. Earthly wisdom is driven by envy and strife, holy wisdom is driven by meekness and produces good fruit. You can tell which is which by the works each one does. There will be sin and unholiness wherever envy and strife are. Where the meek, wise ones are there will be peace, purity, gentleness and mercy. With holy wisdom, we can be righteous.

Our tongue spews evil. We bless God with the same tongue we curse man. No wonder people call us hypocrites. We need to commit to speaking only good- we need to tame our tongues. But no man can do this alone. Only through Christ can this happen. A fountain can not produce both salt water and fresh water. It's either one or the other.

James 3:1-6

These verses show the power of the tongue. It is so very true. The power of life and death is in the tongue. Just by what we say, we can lead the world. As the bit in the horse's mouth turns their whole body, so the tongue turns souls. Words spread like wildfire. Take gossip, for example-- A sinful act that spreads hellfire very quickly. If we can control our tongue, we are perfect, able to control everything else about his body.

James 2:20-26

This elaborates on yesterday's message. Faith without works is dead. Abraham proved himself faithful through his work by offering his son at the altar. It was because of his faith that he did the works. He became a Friend of God. Wow, that is a miraculous title. I would be honored to be a friend of God. Rahab's faith was also justified by her works. I love the last verse as well: "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." You do not have living valid faith if you do not act on it.

James 2: 14-19

Some of my favorite verses. You can't just proclaim that you have faith and expect that to save you. If you have faith, you will act on it. Like in this description- I have faith that you hungry people will be full and happy! Then proceeding to leave at that. You have to actually feed these people, give them nourishment, or you're doing no good at all. "Faith without works is dead." You can say that you believe in God, but demons do as well. You have to do your part to fight them.

James 2: 8-13

I feel that this is pretty straight-forward. We are to love one another, if we don't completely love one another, we are sinning. It only takes one sin to be a sinner. just because we resist one sin doesn't give us rights to any others. When we are judged, we will only be shown mercy if we have shown mercy. This is quite scary in its plainness. It is a call to a sinless life- perfection. The world tells us its unobtainable, but the Bible says differently.

Being rich puts us at a great disadvantage. Francis Chan also talked about this--compared to people in Third World countries, we are all filthy rich. We have so many things that distract us from God. Although we may look down on the poor and think them inferior, they can be much more rich in faith because they are not caught up in material possessions. Indeed, it is often the poor man who is humble in character and loves God--He will inherit God's kingdom.

James 1 :19-27

Here it talks of the disposition we should have, and how to act on it. We must be calm- slow to anger, intent listeners, and think things through. Worldly anger does not produce the righteousness of God. If we can maintain such a disposition, we must not only hear the word, but do it. You will forget the word if you do not carry it out. That which you do carry out will be blessed by God. If you are truly religious, you will see this scripture through, keeping yourselves unstained from the world and loving your neighbors.

James 1:12-18

We can not just expect God to do keep us happy all the time. There will be times when our faith in him is tested and we have to strengthen ourselves through him in order to obey. God himself is never tempting us, but He will allow the devil to tempt us. If we fall to these temptations, we sin, and if we sin, we die. But we can trust in the Lord that he is steadfast and he loves us, and everything good comes from him.

James 1:6-11

The Lord is steadfast and unwavering. Therefore, our faith in him should be just the same. If we don't stand firm on his rock, we are putting ourselves on unstable ground where we will fall. We will not receive anything from him if we do not know him. We can not get caught up in worldly material possessions or the pursuit of wealth. These things will only deter us from God. And if we are separate from God, we will whither away, as James so appropriately puts it, like the sun scorching a flower in the grass. Those who don't have anything are ahead of those of us that do because they are not distracted by these things that don't really matter.

I love the book of James. So much wisdom. Here, he talks about patience or steadfastness. The tempting of your faith works patience. It is the policy of enduring temptation that allows for us to grow strong and wait for Jesus. We can become perfect, wanting nothing, if we have the patience. If we do still lack wisdom, we can ask for it of God, who will always generously give it to us. It is all about what we are willing to do for God. All we need to do is ask for something we don't have, if we use it for His will.

Rev 21:1-14

Heaven. I can't wait to finally get there. Here we get just a glimpse of what it will be like. Truly majestic. With 12 gates, 12 foundations, and a huge wall, it's the true Kingdom of God. He created this place for his children to be with him. No death, no sorrow, no pain, no tears. We will be made new! What a refreshing thought. Everyone will be judged and get what they deserve. No one will be forgotten. He is the beginning and end, and we can trust in Him.

How Great is our God, that he should save us from ourselves. There will be those who mock us, who turn away from God, who have never known his spirit, but by keeping our faith in Him strong, he will give us eternal life. He will provide for us. This passages comes down to not only talking the talk, but walking the walk. You can say you're a Christian, but if you do not keep his commandments, you do not know Christ. If you do not sin, only then are you perfected in God's love. I find verse 10 especially straight-forward. "He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him." There is no stumbling in Jesus. You don't sin. No one wants to believe this, and I don't understand why. Through God, all things are possible. I have faith in his word.

1 peter 1:3-16

Jesus is calling us to follow him. He tells us anything we endure here on earth is worth it. He has heaven waiting for us, a father there, our creator awaiting our arrival. This is truly amazing. He is calling us to be holy, as he is holy. If we turn from our sins and our lusts, we have an eternal life. Only through faith in Jesus Christ is this possible.

Jesus is coming for us, but as a groom awaits his bride at the alter, the bride must walk to him. We must strive to be with him and obey God's commands. He will judge us when he comes. Those who are yet sinful will perish, and those who believe in him will have eternal life. The material things in this world will turn worthless and those who lived for those things will die.

Through faith, God will save us. But faith without works is dead. So if you are working to please God, that is faith. All these testimonies are of people who did just that. they seeked God, and trusted in him. Paul writes to Philemon that he is a good man. He loved and had faith in Jesus and in doing so, refreshed the saints' hearts. Just by loving and having faith in Jesus, Philemon encourages others. Paul then asks him to take care of his son Onesimus-- Not as a slave, but as a brother. If I understand this correctly. Onesimus needs to get to know Jesus because he has strayed from his path. Paul asks with an honest and sincere heart that Philemon take back Onesimus,

I like these verses because they talk directly about how a woman should be. It's important to keep ourselves pure and dignified, teaching the youth to act as such as well. No one should be able to hold anything against us. If we can live this way, we will certainly please God.

2 Timothy 3:1-9

In the end days, the world will be flooded with sinful men. All focus shall be turned away from God. The world will be shrouded in darkness. We must turn away from them, keeping our sights and minds on the light of the Lord, or will fall to sinful temptations. Through Jesus, we can overcome this world, and enter into eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-12

Here I feel encouraged to follow Jesus closer and closer--just to please him. He wants us to come to him, to be sanctified, but we must first make the decision to fully commit ourselves. God has called us to holiness, and he will always be there for us when we make that decision. When we are judged on judgment day, we want to be able to submit to the Lord honestly with no regrets.

If we give up our sinful ways, we can rejoice in the blessings of God. Peace, forgiveness, and joy will come if we let go of our sinful desires. We can experience God's love. God is love. We can be perfect in him as Christ was perfect. Just by letting him take over your heart, trusting in him, you can experience all the peace, love, grace and satisfaction he has to offer. God is good, thanks be to him! :]

This is quite the motivational writing of Paul. "Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded" As Jesus, And if anyone should be mindful of something else, God will reveal that to them, and it is up to them to get back on track to perfection. Some will stray and will not make it to heaven, but those who do follow him will be renewed in a glorious body like him. Forget mistake you have made in the past, and push forward for the glory of Christ.

Without God, we are a darkened spirit led by lusts and our own desires, ignorant and blind. Not until we know and understand the truth of Jesus can our souls be renewed. With our new spirit, we can be righteous and holy. We will sin no more. We will be honest in our work and we shall not go to sleep angry. We will have a tender temperment, forgiving those who do us wrong like Christ forgave us.

This is one of the most straight-forward scriptures I have read, which makes it difficult and convicting to read. I know I have struggles with some of these lusts of the flesh. I need to walk closer with the spirit so that I may gain It's fruits. I will not enter the kingdom of God if I am struggling with any of these lusts of the flesh, and that is a scary truth.

2 Corinthians 2:5-17

We must forgive those who do us wrong. Simply because that's what Jesus did. He forgave everyone in the past, present, and future for their sins against him out of Love. He loves us, and we need to love thy neighbor as well.

"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ"

we either taste like Life or Death. I pray that I can be pleasing unto God--a taste of eternal life, but I can only achieve that if I walk as Christ did.

Through the Lord Jesus Christ, we can be saved. Amen! He has opened that door for us, and it is up to us to walk through into the arms of our creator. Through our faith we are justified, and with faith we have peace in his grace. Just as we turn to God in our troubling times, yet we should also turn to him in our pleasant times--also should we thank God in our troubling times as we do in our pleasant times. Through everything God is teaching us, he is with us, and he is good. Knowing this is my constant, I'll live my life for him the best I can. He loves us so much that all that we deserve he took out upon his spotless son--his own sacrifice for us.... Opening that door so that we may spend eternity with him.

Acts 4: 23-31

This week we seem to be looking at the power of prayer. As Pastor Jerry spoke about this week, The Lord's will be done. We can pray, but the only fruitful prayer will be in accordance to His will, and in Jesus' name. The Lord really does the miraculous. I had been wondering about prayer, feeling ignorant and ineffective in my own prayers. I didn't know where to start, but I didn't even need to ask. The Lord led Pastor Jerry to give a whole sermon on prayer, and now my questions are answered. Praise the Lord! Here they pray in accordance with God and the place shakes-- anointed, they pray with boldness, or as Pastor Jerry explained, confidence.

John 17:6-26

Wow. Jesus' prayer of us, his children. He wants us to be one as he and the father are one. We must adhere to these requests. We must be in the world, but not of it. We can be perfect if we are sanctified through truth--his word. We are his children, and what safety and peace I find in those words.

Luke 6:37-49

40-"The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master."

We can be like Jesus. He says so right here. Perfect--and I do believe it to be sinless, as Jesus our master was. He is the example. He is a point we can reach. The is why he lived and breathed among us and was not kept in the heavens. We are 100% man, but so was Jesus. He just happened to be 100% God too. There's no point in him being 100% man too if we couldn't achieve what he was. He sets the example.

I also love the verse here about building our house on rock or on sand. The Rock is God, the earth is everything worldly. God is permanent. the world will pass away. Our lives must be built on Him so that our houses will remain unshaken.

The fruit metaphor is also powerful. We cannot produce good fruit if we are corrupt. Good fruit comes from good trees and bad fruit from bad trees. "For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

Overall, we must be good through and through-to the foundation of our lives in order to truely produce good fruit. We must be as our master.

Matthew 27: 32-54

Jesus' crucifixion is a humbling story. He was so humble through all of the horrid torture he endured. A spotless lamb on the cross....the son of God....no one could ever completely understand what he went through. They wanted proof. They wanted him to get down off the cross to prove that he was a King. But he didn't. He had a greater purpose to serve, and that was to give all of those who did him wrong a chance to be with their creator in Heaven. This is the true distinguishing point between proof and faith.

Malachi 3:6-16

¹⁰Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

God can't give us blessings if we fill up our lives with things that only matter to us. We must give in tithes so that there is room for the blessings God has to over us. I never thought of tithing like this before, and this is a beautiful truth.

Those that are skeptical and turn away from the Lord will perish. Those that fear him and think upon his name will be his jewels--saved. The Lord is steadfast and true. By obeying him, he will grant us eternal life.

Zechariah 1: 1-6

Here we see how God has been disobeyed in the past and how that has not turned out well for those who do not obey. We must turn away from our evil ways and embrace the Lord. We must trust in him that he will do what is right and just, and not trust our own motivations. He justly dealt with people according to their ways.

Haggai 1:1-12

The people know that the Lord can provide and the Lord can take away. They know if the Lord says rebuild his house, they better do it. They fear him. He can make all their work meaningless because he is all-powerful God. He is all-knowing and wise, and we are ignorant. He knows what is best and we best not disobey.

zephaniah 1:14-18

Quite terrifying. This whole week we've been learning about God's wrath and the fire of his jealousy. He, the almighty one, will wreak havoc in this world. Those who have sinned will walked blindly and their blood will be spilled. What's even more distressing- their flesh will be like dung. Dark clouds and gloom. Even the mightiest of men will cry before the Lord.

Habakkuk 3:1-4

Again we visit the fear God instills in his children. His supreme power is evident. Being that we trust him, we can trust that he will be just, and do to us what we deserve. We can fear what he will do to our loved ones who do not know him. His light will one day cover this word and all will know.

Nahum 1:2-7

Well this is quite powerful. We have a description here of the Lord's wrath. He is mighty in power and now will get away with opposing him. Although he is slow to anger, he will grow furious and take out his vengeance on his adversaries. Fire, wind, earthquakes-- all to take out on the wicked. But his is good and will be the rock for those who trust in him.

Micah 2:1-5

Those who practice evil will be punished. If you devise evil, it does not go unnoticed. You drag everyone down. It has negative effects on your family. God will punish your family. As he did here, he took away some of their portion. They realize then how God had been good to them and provided, but he can just as easily take away.

Jonah 2

Here is the classic story of Jonah and the whale--well actually, he's in a fish. It takes being swallowed by a giant fish for Jonah to realize that he can't run away from God. God is everlasting, ever-present, and ever-right. While in the belly of the fish Jonah turns to God and away from his sin, submitting himself to God. Only after this did Jonah get vomited onto dry land.

Obadiah 1:15-17

Here it talks about the unquenchable thirst the sinners have. They will drink water and will not be satisfied. They do not realize that God is the only one who can quench their thirst. They must turn front heir sins and embrace the Lord and obey him.

Amos 5:12-17

Here we see again how sins deceive us and we should turn from them. Sins are evil, and we must turn to good. Hate evil and Love the good. It is sad how many people do not realize what their sins will cost them. The Lord will be with those who love the good. Sinners are missing out.

Joel 1:13-20

The Lord is all-powerful. Here we get a taste of what destruction he is capable of. This is why we must fear him and love him. The sinners of the world must face this wrath--what a truly horrible future lies before them if they continue in their ways. The Lord describes a place where all if unfruitful--like the people he scorns.

Hosea 4:1-10

The Lord wants us to learn, to crave knowledge. He doesn't want us to conveniently forget, or he will conveniently forget us. He will destroy those who do not seek him--who reject him. We must know the law of the Lord so we can obey it. He will turn glory into shame of those who sin. We must know what we're doing.

Daniel 2:17-23

What I get from this passage is that God knows all. you can't keep any secrets for him--every action will be judged. He sees both light and darkness. He can also give insight and understanding to those that desire it. Having understanding is a great blessing because then it is easier to obey the Lord, so there are less secrets.

Ezekiel 36:24-32

Interesting. As followers of the Lord he will bless us, clean us, and take us away from our sinful ways--Give us a new heart, a new spirit a new land. He will renew our love for him to the point where we loathe our past sinful ways. I wonder if this can come before death. He says he will give us a heart of flesh. I wonder if this is what perfection is.

This is quite a sad chapter with all of Jeremiahs laments. We have done a lot of wrong and the Lord has judged us. But we can still turn to him. the Lord is steadfast. We can always depend on him for ever and ever. We can turn from our sins and he can renew us, because the Lord does love us.

Jeremiah 25:8-14

Those who do not hear the Lord's word and do his works shall have great destruction brought to them. God is all-powerful. He can bring any man to his knees in the blink of an eye. He can take away any and all joy in our lives if that is what he judges us to deserve. It is so important to fear and obey him. He deserves all glory and respect.

Here we see a prophesy of Jesus, and how he took our sins upon him so we can be healed. This is truly amazing, and it just re-enforces the power of the bible. All the pain Jesus endured and the sorrow he faced in the world, it was for one purpose and that was so we could be saved. He was the spotless lamb sent to slaughter. Thank You Jesus.

What incredibly beautiful imagery. I can only imagine this to be what heaven looks like. What a beautiful long song of God and his children. He is our dearest lord, and we should run to him--run away from worldliness. He entices us with the beauty and prospers of his land.

Ecclesiastes 12:9-14

The preacher is very knowledgeable. He thought long and hard about what he wanted to say, and therefore was gave wise words of upright truth. Words of the wise guide people, but if you are always looked to for advice, it can wear you out. In the end, our soul purpose is to fear the Lord and obey his commandments.

Proverbs 3:1-8

The Lord does not ask us to know everything. He just asks us to keep his commandments. He doesn't ask us to understand all that we see, he asks us to trust him. He is good and powerful, and he is the one who can lengthen our days and put peace in our hearts. He will guide us. We must not forget his law.

The last psalm, psalm 150, if an excellent psalm simply praising the Lord. Make praise a celebration! Dance, sing, play music, and just rejoice in the Lord! He is mighty and powerful, and he loves us. Let anything and anyone praise the Lord!! He is good :]

Job 1

One of my favorite stories. Job is a perfect man. God provided him a prosperous life with food, family, and protection. Satan thinks he will sin if he takes away his possessions and family, so he kills all his livestock and sons. But Job remains perfect and bows down and worships the Lord without sinning. This greatly applies to my life right now. My worldly possessions and relationships are meaningless and I should keep my focus on the Lord. All good that comes from anything is from the Lord, not what I make of it. Job had everything he cared about on Earth taken away, and he submitted himself to the Lord- "The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Chapter

Ezra 9:12-17

This passage tells us about Queen Esther and the King. The Jews killed 500 men in Susa and 10 sons of Haman. The Queen says to allow the Jews to do tomorrow as they did today, and hang the 10 sons of Haman. So this is done. The Jews in the king's provinces killed 75000 people who hated them and then on the 14th day had rest and feasted. I'm not sure what to take from this passage to be honest.

Nehemiah 1

Here we see Nehemiah praying to God that he has recognizes his sin and he confesses them. The wall of Jerusalem has fallen and he is praying for those people as well. He knows that they all have been unfaithful and now seeks redemption. He knows that God is good to those who are faithful, and scatters those who are not. He wants to be in good standing with the Lord once again.

Ezra 9:8-15

Here we can see that we should not commit to the unclean. We can not be lovers of the world and God at the same time. They are disobedient and do not follow the Lord's commandments. God has showed us more mercy than we deserve, so we should love him and obey him. We should not dirty ourselves by getting too involved with those who are unclean.

1 chronicles 29:10-13

David is simply blessing the Lord here--exalting his name and praising him in all his glory. He is mighty and powerful. He strengthens us all. He reigns above the heavens and earth. He is truly worthly of all exaltation and praise and blessings.

1 kings 9:1-9

Here we continue from yesterday's verses. David's son Solomon built a house for the Lord and the Lord hallowed it. And the Lord basically said he'd be with it forever. As long as Solomon stays an upright and honest man like his father David, he with have his throne in the kingdom of Israel. But the moment he strays from following the Lord, the Lord will take away those blessings and he will set loose evil in Solomon's life. This teaches us to commit to the Lord and make sure we stay on a pure path following him.

2 Samuel 7:1-17

If I am correct, here the Lord is telling Nathan to tell David to build a house of cedar for the Lord. God has protected David from his enemies and gave him rest, so he should now build a house of cedar. The Lord will also make David a king, and will give his rest from his enemies. His son will also become king after David dies, and he will be corrected but God will continue to show him mercy. Here I learn that God takes care of his obedient children.

Ruth 2:8-13

Here I see that Ruth is receiving blessings from God because she has been selfless and served her Lord faithfully. Boaz provided for Ruth because God had showed him what a good person she is. God has found favor for her because she has done good works. Basically, we will get rewarded when we do works that please God.

Judges 2: 16-23

I think the message here is pretty simple. the Lord raised judges, yet the people of Israel bowed to false gods and turned away from the ways of their fathers. The Lord saved them from their enemies because he pitied them all the days of the judge, but when the judge died, he got angry with them and left them alone by themselves. This simply shows us that we should not take God's grace for granted. We must serve him and obey him. That means not worshiping and gods but him.

Joshua 24:14-27

This was slightly confusing, but what I got from it is that there is only one God, and he is a jealous God. You can not serve any god other than him and still have your sins forgiven. This is the Lord that led his people out of Egypt. He must be kept separate from all other Gods of our fathers. The people agree to worship only him.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20

There is only one path to life, and that is through Jesus to the Lord. If we stray from the path and worship other gods, we will die. simple as that. No other god will save you, because no other god created you or sacrificed himself for all sins past present and future, so that they may be forgiven.
When we trust and obey our Lord, he will save us.

Numbers 12:1-9

This goes to show you don't speak against a humble servant of God like Moses. Aaron and Mariam were put in their places when they criticized Moses' marriage to an Ethiopian woman. They seemed jealous that the Lord was speaking through Moses so clearly. But the Lord kindled his anger against them.

Leviticus 20:22-26

This passage talks about how we are separated from the unclean. I also take this to mean we must keep ourselves clean by distancing ourselves from uncleanliness. We can not simply fall into the pattern of the world. That would just take us away from God. He's telling us to be holy, like him. He has made us different from them.

Exodus 3:7-14

Here the Lord talks to Moses about leading the his people out of Egypt. Moses at first questions wht kind of man he is to lead so many people, but the Lord is with him, and he obeys. This is a basic model for us following Jesus. We too many not see ourselves as worthy to do his work, but when he commands us, he is with us. The Lord will provide for his people. Though the journey may be long and rough, in the end the Lord our God will prevail.

The classic story of Adam and Eve when Eve succumbed to the serpent's temptation-- eating off the tree of knowledge. I think what God is showing us here is that as humans we seek knowledge, we want facts and proof--to be able to SEE things before us. And that's what we're created as. Eve was allured by the idea of having her eyes opened and seeing what God sees. But as followers of Christ, we have the power to overcome that basic sinful desire and walk by faith not by sight.
